Hi Folks

yeap had my first R.A surgery a silly little nodgle

nasty little thing .A little stinger .So on thursday it was removed i have a stiff rude finger making a rude sign as the tendon is stiff , middle figer Wub Stuck up
I leave the dressing of at night so air can get too it .Now can move it slightley .Have the stiches out Monday next .

friday i was wishing i never had it done .But now can see differance so it will be ok once finger bends ha ha .
during day i wear a glove over it so it is kept dry and keep a dressing on .I wash the hand with a fannel and at night use a wipe to kill grems

i can do a few things with the glove on .Driveing is ??? As fingers need to grip and turning the engine on is ? but getting better every day .

It was dx all sort of things like drit traped all sorts of silly things .

Well done chrissie for being so brave re the finger. Is it very sore?

I hope it goes well for you when the bandage comes off and the finger soon settles.

its not so bad .
It does not hurt much .Till i try too turn the car engine on ha ha .

of course where it is i need to keep it coverd and dry .The hand is a little stiff where the finger is stuck up
but better when i have finshed doing things then the dressing comes off and i can bend the hand much better .

the other hand is worse as i have over done it i have a splint on .But i had the chest biopsy and could not pull on the right side and the finger is also the right so the other hand aches and is spinted up day and night to help it .

grip has come back in right hand as can get the other fingers down .Finding useing a knife or the peeler hard or a pen .But by Next week stichs will be out and hopfully better

And i take gloves every where ha ha

i don,t think i am brave .Nodule nasty little thing so glad to be rid of it .And you have grown some .All i can say if you have the removed i will come and help .

Chrissy, thanks so much for posting your experience about nodule removal - I have several of the little blighters, in my ankle, my wrist and knuckles and have been wondering what might be done about them in the future - so far all I've had is a steroid injection into the one in my ankle (which REALLY hurt!!)

I hope it feels better really soon.

Well i had no idea what it was .Till the doctor said he was sending me to the hospital .

And said it needed removeing .As i thought the nurse would do it ha ha as i had been told i had dirt traped in it ha ha .

So was it worth it .Friday i would had said no .
today i would say yes

the injection was pain full but the opp was over in a few mins with me watching every bit of it .
i had an interresting bump underneth so was keen to see this lump which was not bone just a hard bump i was born with it .So it would had been 57 yrs on friday ha ha
it came off with the nodule but before they said they would try not to cut any where near it .
so have a flat finger now .

the nodule was a pest as it sat on top of the bump .

yes glad i have had it done and hope i don,t grow any more they said i may grow it back again on the same finger help .
I did not know what it was untill the surgen told me .Only the doc said its got too come off .

Hi Chrissie

You have done really well getting shut of the nodule and the bump in one fell swoop. Glad you now feel that the post op. discomfort was worth it and your finger is healing well. Look after it Smile

Glad that it is not so painful now Chris. Did you find someone to show the erect finger to?

Look after yourself I hope that the stitches are not too painful coming out.

Hi Chrissie
Glad everything went okay and that you now feel it was worth it - that's the main thing.

Hi Folks

Just too say its 11 days now Stiches came out yesterday .I am still keeping it dry and coverd as reason i had a bump took off as well .

Nurse said not too bend it yesterday as i had tight stiches ,
But at night when its not coverd its a lot less painfull then the nodgle i don,t miss that thing at all .

So i will likeley start washing my hand for real in a few days .I am always cleaning something so keeping it coverd is best in the day .
i use dressings from the cemist rather then plasters .So nothing can get in .

in a good rotine of having gloves in pocket got a box of 100 the only way to go .
My biopsy ha ha i had stiches out then the next day i turned over in bed and POP but its healing now NO NO i was not going to have it re stiched no way .But lots of friends are nurses so i did check it out .I will have a bigger scar there now he he .But who is going to see it .Its on top of my boob .

When i go back to swimming No looks please .No i don,t care .

missin swimming doing garden with a glove and a latex glove on top .
Please have your nodgles removed its not that bad

Good news Chris. Great that you didn't get an infection as well. Hope that they progress continues. must be strange to be without it as you had it for such a long time.

Take care,

Dear Chris,
What great news about your nodule being removed!
I have one on my left elbow and have been told I can have it removed,
but because I have had a bad back for the last several months, I have not
had it done yet!
I also have a nodule on the second finger of my right hand and it really gets
on my nerves!
But the Surgeon said it can't be removed as it is on the joint of my finger!
Well done for being so brave,
best wishes,
FionaSmile
